In this edition: a cave replica in France, a bird flight simulator, a luxury exhibition in London, retro games and the 2015 Federal Horticultural Show First Visitors inside the Chauvet Cave Replica A replica of the Chauvet Cave in the Ardèche region of southern France opens to the public on April 25. The real cave, a UNESCO world heritage site, was discovered in 1994 and contains wall paintings over 20,000 years old. This replica was built using computer models and 6000 digital photos, taking around 30 months to complete at a staggering cost of 55 million euros. Chauvet Cave, France, Replica, UNESCO Bird Flight Simulator is Put to the Test Man's dream of flying like a bird is finally a reality. Well, virtual reality. Swiss scientists have developed a unique, highly sophisticated simulator, which promises to replicate that soaring sensation. But is it the real deal? We send our reporter to try it for himself. Luxury Globes from London Peter Bellerby produces exquisite handmade globes in his workshop in London. They range in price from 1,200 all the way to 64,000 Euros. He started making them about 7 years ago, and in the meantime his customers come from all over the globe. Paris in the Springtime City of love, city of fashion, city of art - Paris has a lot of labels and a long list of world-famous sights, including the Eiffel tower, the Louvre and Notre Dame. In this edition: Gunther Holtorf’s drive around the world, "Bodies in Urban Spaces” by Willi Dorner, the Best Pastry Chef in the World, Misfit Models, and the BIG Architecture Bureau. Globetrotter's Return Gunther Holtorf quit his job, packed up his belongings and took off to see the world in his 4x4 Mercedes. Now at age 77 he returned home for good after being on the road for 26 years and travelling almost 900,000 kilometres around the globe. Today he shares his adventures with us. "Bodies in Urban Spaces” by Willi Dorner Dancers in colorful tracksuits suddenly coalesce into body sculptures - jamming themselves in gaps between houses or wrapping themselves around street lights. "Bodies in Urban Spaces" is Austrian choreographer Willi Dorner’s long-running project. This time his team is shaking up the Swiss city of Biel as part of the "Le Mouvement" performance art festival. The Best Pastry Chef in the World Jordi Roca was recently voted world's best pâtissier by Britain's "Restaurant" magazine. We went to visit him in Girona in northeastern Spain at his "El Celler de Can Roca” to check out his deserts. We also visit him at his ice cream parlor "Rocambolesc”. Misfit Models We profile a model agency in Berlin run by a Brit which specializes in avoiding models with perfect looks and bodies. Del Keens first made a name for himself in Britain before moving to the German capital and establishing his own model agency. He's got the elderly, tattooed, those with wild hairdos, and some with physical challenges. And more and more of them are being chosen for mainstream ads. BIG Architecture Bureau Danish architect Bjarke Ingels and his company create structures with the focus on sustainability. BIG is an international creative collective of more than 200 individuals: from architects and designers to copywriters and business experts. Among its more high-profile ventures was the Danish Pavilion for the 2010 Expo in Shanghai and the Maritime Museum in the Danish town of Helsingor in 2013.

Looking for the Ultimate Spring Outfit As the warmer weather comes around what should women be wearing? It is a hard task searching for a fashionable wardrobe. Euromaxx host Meike Krüger set out to find the perfect spring outfit using three different methods of shopping: going to the store yourself, ordering via an on-line counseling service, and getting a personal shopper. The Red Hot Exhibition It is often thought that men with red hair are far from being sexy which is why London-based photographer Thomas Knights set out to prove otherwise. His international photo exhibition project and his book "RED HOT 100" are definitely helping him achieve his goal to rebrand the stereotypical ginger man. We visit him at his exhibition in Berlin. Pioneers of Street Art An exhibition in Frankfurt shows how in the 1950's artists in Paris and Rome tore strips off advertising posters and used the fragnments to create their own works of art. The so-called affichistes are sometimes called the pioneers of street art. Expo 2015 in Milan, Italy Welcome to the new Milan. The gray, industrial metropolis is turning into a greener, environment-conscious city. Fittingly: the Expo's motto this year is "Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life“. German landscape architect Andreas Kipar shows us just how his adopted home is going green. Finland's Eurovision Entry Finland's entry for 2015 is punk band Pertti Kurikan Nimipäivät whose members all have learning disabilities. The band is the latest in a fine tradition of off-beat entrants from the Nordic country.

Visitors can now virtually visit the museum! Euromaxx finds out the details. Miniature Street Art British Artist Slinkachu has made a name for himself with his tiny, charming works of art, known as Little People. He puts them in public places throughout the city, photographs the mini-scenarios and then leaves them there, for the lucky passerby to discover! A new exhibition of his photos in London is entitled "Miniaturesque". The Bicycle as a Design Statement The bicycle is no longer just a mode of transportation, but also a style statement and a way of life. Now, environmentally friendly bikes made of renewable materials like bamboo or wood, or bikes out of recycled auto-parts are making inroads! Industrial designer and boat-builder Jan Gunneweg makes exclusive bikes out of walnut wood costing up to 16,000 Euros! Fairy Tale Sweden Småland in southern Sweden is a region of unspoiled nature and traditionally painted wooden houses. It is famous for its hand-blown glass and story-telling. This is where children's book author Astrid Lindgren grew up. Join us for a magical journey through Småland. He has just published a new collection of his works called Nothing Beats Reality. He seldom gives interviews, but he made an exception in our case.

Robochop The design duo Kram & Weisshaar are employing the latest in technology when it comes to designing furniture and other objects. Their robot called "Robochop" follows commands from the computer to create individualized designer pieces on the spot. Get a sneak peak at the Cebit technology fair in Hanover. Bordalo Segundo and his street art Trash found in nature and outside walls on the street are the basics that make up the creations of Bordalo Segundo. But the Portugese street artist not only creates giant murals, he tries to convey an environmental message with his art. Icelandic Creations Iceland is trying to put itself on the design map. The nation's capital Reykjavik is hosting the "Design March" festival to showcase some of the country's up-and-coming young talent. Vacationing on Fuerteventura Some call it the "Hawaii of Europe." The Spanish island of Fuerteventura is a popular destination spot for those who want to enjoy sand, sea, sun and surf. Learn more about what the island has to offer. Finding Forgery The art market is booming and that is visible at one of the most prestigious art fairs, the TEFAF, which is currently underway in the Dutch city of Maastricht. Here museums, galleries and art collectors are spending billions. Detecting forged art is key to TEFAF's reputation. That's why exhibitors have to pass strict procedures before the show begins. Alexander Mcqueen Retrospective We report on a retrospective currently opening in London called Savage Beauty. It pays tribute to the late fashion designer from Britain who died in 2010. Smart Goggles Our roving reporter Hendrik Welling takes to the slopes with smart goggles to see how effective they are. The goggles provide users with all sorts of information such as how to locate the nearest ski lift. Underwater Artist Jason deCaires Taylor This British artist creates concrete sculptures that are arranged to form huge underwater installations. The aim is to help revitalize coral reefs. We caught up with him in the Canary Isles. Self-Driving Cars Mercedes and Audi are already well on the way to developing high-end vehicles that drive themselves using sensors and computers, and at the Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland another model was also on display. It's called the Budii. It’s from the Swiss company Rinspeed. One special thing about this car is that the steering wheel is optional. Discovering Switzerland This time we travel to the eastern Swiss region of Graubünden and Engadin. That's where some of Europe's most exclusive ski resorts like Davos and St. Moritz are located.

The Art of Sharing Shared economy has been a buzzword in recent years and is a growing market and a significant shift in values. People rather share things instead of owning them. Sharing is also popular among younger travelers. Euromaxx reporter Hendrik Welling tests what's on offer in Amsterdam and finds new ways to discover the city. Fashion Newcomers Fashion insiders are anxiously anticipating the latest creations by French designers Lea Peckre and Jacquemus. Their creations challenge conventions and offer a few surprises on the catwalks. Euromaxx went to Paris Fashion Week to have a look at the young designers' runway shows. Retro-styled Cars The International Geneva Motor Show is one of the world's leading automobile fairs. This year's 85th edition showcases the newest trends in technology and design. One of the hottest trends harks back to the past though. Many car makers feature models that remind us of past decades. Norwegian Cartoonist Arild Midthun He may well be the most famous duck in the world: Donald Duck. The cartoon character has become more popular in Europe than in the US. These days the comic strip is even created by artists from this side of the Atlantic - like Norwegian cartoonist Arild Midthun. He is one of the best known artists working on the cartoon and we went to look over his shoulder. Made to Measure Skis A great pair of skis makes all the difference on the slopes. So for those who can afford it, the Swiss company Birdos specializes in making customized freeride skis.

The events are full of surprises, including functioning roller coasters, making them the hot ticket item at fashion shows. If you can't say something nice... Many Germans are unsure how to give and receive compliments. It often makes them feel uncomfortable. Euromaxx anchor and reporter Meike Krüger is determined to dig deeper into this cultural phenomenon. Winter Trip to Oslo Norway's capital is worth a trip even in the icy winter months. One of the biggest attractions is the Holmenkollen Ski Jump, as well as its simulator at the National Ski Arena Holmenkollen. And for culture lovers, the new Tjuvholmen quarter right on the Oslo fjord is teeming with art galleries, museums, and good restaurants. The New Thriller by Martin Suter Switzerland’s most successful contemporary writer Martin Suter has just published his 14th novel, "Montecristo.” It is the story of a journalist who quickly finds himself embroiled in a high-stakes drama. The thriller was published just in time for his 67th birthday. 200 Years of Pringle of Scotland Scottish Fashion label Pringle has made a name for itself worldwide with it's elegant knitwear. The traditional house's designs have been worn by the likes of Brigitte Bardot and Grace Kelly. An exhibition at London's Serpentine Gallery takes in the full scope of the label’s two centuries tracing its heritage back to its founding in 1815.

On today's euromaxx Highlights: The German language isn't exactly known for being melodious or easy to learn. Nevertheless the number of German learners is on the rise. We take a look at the reasons for the language's growing popularity. German rock giants' Scorpions new album 'Return to Forever' is out. And we get a taste of the New Nordic Cuisine in Copenhagen. Is German Sexy? The German language is well-known for its complex grammar and some say it sounds harsh. Nevertheless German language classes are in high demand. That might also be due to the fact that Germany is currently the second most popular country for immigration after the US. The New Scorpions Album 'Return to Forever' is out to mark the band's golden jubilee. The studio album features old, previously unreleased tracks as well as new ones. Ballo del Doge in Venice Venice is hosting its annual carnival celebrations, with around 1.5 million visitors expected to descend on the floating city. One of the highlights is a masked ball on the Palazzo Pisani Moretta, located on the Grand Canal. New Nordic Cuisine The New Nordic Diet has become really popular of late. That's thanks to the health benefits that many researchers attribute to its somewhat basic nutritional rules. Its mainly a plant-based diet although some meat is allowed. We went to the Danish capital Copenhagen to find out more. Hundertwasser and his Dreamscapes Friedensreich Hundertwasser's paintings are instantly recognizable: imaginative motifs in bright colors with intertwining, rounded shapes, often spirals. An exhibition in Hagen pays tribute to the artist on the 15th anniversary of his death.
