Welcome to The Dick Turpin Roadshow, a humorous look at the Open Source community from comments on social networks, peoples blogs and websites to the mad bag lady on the street corner. Some, if not everything, said here is probably the fiction of our warped minds so there’s little point in getting upset about anything we say. Hopefully you’ll find us funny and entertaining, there will be some rude words so if you have a weak heart or are easily offended this is not for you.

So before we get started sadly this episode effectively died after about twenty minutes, having said that we have managed to put an episode together with the help of some corn plasters, super glue and a box of staples. The only news story you'll hear the team discuss is the BBC dropping WMA due to licensing costs and switching to more open MPEG-DASH. We then went on to discuss Lenovo making your newly purchased equipment vunerable with 'superfish' the discussion moved on to the NoSQL injection vulnerability of 40,000 MongoDB databases. Linus announces Linux 4.0 this was a really good discussion, honestly. :-) We save the best till last. The headline was that Mark Shuttleworth admitted Untiy was a mistake but after some discussion we admit that's not really what he was saying. South London Makerspace Now this is possibly the biggest shame of the whole show, if only you could have heard Pete tearing Matt a new arsehole during this section for saying that he had no right to claim any kudos seeing as he hadn't attended much lately. And it's still kicking off over at Debian as Joey Hess announces he's leaving the project which Matt seems to think is no major issue while Pete seems far too impressed with Joey's dial-up skills. The FSF announce the launch of a copyleft site designed to be a focal point for information and guidance for those needing that type of license. This episode Pete and Matt talk about their new found admiration for Laura Cowen and we also hear how Pete was picked up by some strange Aussie bloke while out walking in Oxford. As we keep telling everyone, our show is not just about Linux and with that in mind this episode kicks off with a discussion about a program on the television called The Apprentice which nobody will be surprised to learn is one of Pete's favourites. Having promised Corenominal AKA Sergeant Bilko that we would not cover systemd we decide, as per usual, to break our word and do the story anyway and cover Ian Jackson's tactical call for a GR (General Resolution) vote for Debian Jessie and how some of the Dev's are considering forking Debian. The highlight of this discussion is when Pete actually defends Mark Shuttleworth! Have we become brand name (Google AKA Nexus) slaves? Pete tells us how he mentioned on G+ that he'd like a Tesco's Hudl 2 and was promptly shunned by the Google Nexus brigade. Matt's cat Main Topic OggCamp Roundup: Matt can't really tell us anything as he was hardly there! It began in South Africa No news is good news: So where's the news from Canonical? Matt and Pete discuss the tumble-weed blowing across the Ubuntu plains and Pete confesses he may have misjudged Jono Bacon's marketing skills. What's in a name?
